Invisalign In Calgary
Invisalign is clearly different.

Straighten your teeth without the use of traditional fixed braces.
Invisalign is a specialist orthodontic treatment that can help to correct dental alignment problems. We proudly offer this at our Calgary dental office!
Invisalign was the first invisible aligner available to dentists, and it's still an amazing solution to straightening your teeth! We are so excited about this innovative solution that allows you to straighten your teeth without the use of traditional fixed braces.
Traditional braces are made up of brackets that attach to the teeth with a wire connecting the brackets. Over time, the wires are adjusted to guide your teeth into place.

The Invisalign Difference

Appearance
Invisalign uses clear plastic trays that are nearly invisible when you're wearing them. Straighten your teeth without brackets and wires! This is great for anyone from teens to adults.

Comfort
The smooth plastic trays have no extruding edges and they're custom fit to your teeth. You can remove the aligners when you eat or drink, so you never have to avoid your favourite foods!

Cleanliness
You can remove the trays when you brush (and floss), then pop them back in. A clean mouth is a healthy mouth! Finish your treatment with teeth whitening and you can flash your smile as a new you!
How does Invisalign work?
Curious to know if Invisalign could be the right treatment choice for you?
Let’s walk you through a typical treatment plan with Dr. Meyer.
-
Step 1: Make a good (digital) impression
Impressions of your teeth are required to plan your Invisalign treatment and to later create your series of clear plastic aligners. We no longer use the goop you have to bite into! We're equipped with incredible technology called iTero that allows us to take 3D digital impressions of your mouth!
This stage forms the basis of your entire treatment plan, but don't worry, it’s straightforward and comfortable. Your impressions will be used during the next step and later sent to the Invisalign lab to create your trays.
-
Step 2: Our Invisalign consultation
To determine if Invisalign is the right orthodontic treatment for you, Dr. Meyer will use X-rays and your 3D digital impressions of your teeth to determine if you are a suitable candidate. He will then walk you through the Invisalign process so you understand what you can expect.
Invisalign offers an experience called ClinCheck that allows you to see exactly what results you can expect to achieve. Yes, you’ll be able to see a digital representation of what your straight smile will look like! It's pretty incredible!
If you’re happy with the expected results and Dr. Meyer views the predicted treatment as successful, you can get started with treatment. Dr. Meyer will present you with a treatment plan so you're aware of every step coming up.
-
Step 3: Start your Invisalign treatment
The Invisalign lab will create your aligners then we will invite you back to the clinic. You will have to wear them every day and change them as instructed, typically every 1-2 weeks. Remember that Invisalign can only do its work if you are wearing the aligners!
Small, tooth-coloured dots of dental bonding may need to be placed on some of your teeth, but these aren't like brackets and wires! They won't be a bother during your treatment and they help your Invisalign aligners move your teeth into position more effectively.
-
Step 4: Flash us a smile!
You will visit Dr. Meyer every 6-8 weeks throughout your treatment to check on the progress of your aligners. If you have any issues with the aligners, or if you lose one, you’ll be able to discuss this at your appointment.
-
Step 5: Keep your perfect smile perfect
Once your treatment is over, you won’t be able to stop flashing your smile! We’ll discuss the possible need for an overnight or permanent bonded retainer wire to help keep your teeth in alignment for years to come!
